Höfner was founded in Germany in 1887 by Karl Höfner and with such a long history they have been able to gather a wealth of experience in the construction guitar and bass instruments.

Much of Höfner’s success is attributed to Paul McCartney’s use of the Höfner 500/1 violin bass throughout his career and is commonly referred to as the “Beatle bass”.
