This Firebird Harness is wired to the (Peter Frampton) wiring schematic for 3 Humbuckers.

The configuration gives you full control of all 3 pickups to use individually or altogether in any order and a master tone.

3 Volume Configuration
The 3 volume and 1 master tone configuration is where the 2nd Tone control is reassigned to the Middle pickup Volume control. The Middle pickup is always on (regardless of the toggle switch position) and you can blend it in with either or both the Bridge & Neck. With the switch in the middle position, you can turn down the bridge and neck and feature only the middle pickup. Basically it gives you full control of all 3 pickups to use individually or altogether in any order and a master tone.

Components
Premium 500k CTS Potentiometers x 4, short or long split shaft with vintage audio taper (fitted with additional nut for height adjustment on the long shaft pot).
Capacitor x 1, Size 0.022uF / Sprague Orange Drop.
20AWG Tinned copper ground.
Pots supplied with Nut, Flat Washer & Locking Star Washer.

Long or Short Potentiometers? (Pots)
If you are unsure of the pot length required on your Firebird guitar, then please order the Long Pots as they will fit all models and can also be adjusted in length due to the extra nut fitted, where if you order the Short Pots they may not be long enough.
Short Pot threaded bushing height: 9.52mm.
Long Pot threaded bushing height: 19.05mm (supplied with 2 nuts for height adjustment).

Controls
Volume 1 – Bridge.
Volume 2 – Middle.
Volume 3 – Neck.
Tone 1 – Master.

Will this fit my guitar?
Our pre-wired Firebird 3 Pickups Wiring harness is wired to fit genuine Gibson & Epiphone models. If installing into an imported model / DIY guitar kit you will need to ensure the Potentiometer holes will take CTS pots (approx 10mm). This can be done using a round file or carefully with a 10mm drill.

Centre to centre measurements between components
Centre of neck volume pot and neck tone pot – 45mm.
Centre of neck volume pot and bridge volume pot – 40mm.
Centre of neck tone pot and bridge tone pot – 54mm.
Centre of bridge volume pot and bridge tone pot – 50mm.
Measurements can sometimes vary slightly on some Firebird models, so we allow plenty of movement in wire lengths between components to allow for a comfortable fit.
If your measurements are different from the above, please let us know when you order and we will build your harness to your specifications.
